Jenny Then

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Spanish is my native language.

My family and I moved to New York City in the year 1984. When I arrived to this country, I didn’t know how to speak English, therefore when I attended Junior High School I was an ESL, English as a Second Language student. I attended Borough of Manhattan Community College In pursuit of an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and Social Work Studies.

I have more than 10 years of experience working with children, which it is a pleasure for me because teaching is a very rewarding experience. I consider myself to be a very funny, passionate, and energetic person. I enjoy reading, writing, art, and I am very passionate about culture and society.

Here at Bilingual Nest I am the Spanish teacher in the prek class and also I teach Spanish at our Afterschool Enrichment Program. I love teaching Spanish to the children. I enjoy teaching at Bilingual Nest because children learn in a creative based curriculum, which gives me the opportunity to teach through Art, Music, and Reading. As a Spanish Teacher I am here to enhance the students’ understanding of the Spanish Language.

I am devoted to inspire your child to converse in Spanish. I am pleased to be your Child’s Spanish Teacher this year. Bienvenidos y Muchas Gracias!
